Getting out of Your Comfort Zone and really Help You in Life

Like most athletes and entertainers that compete to be the best.
What do they all have in common? Or what should they all have that
are similar? Apart from being very unique, they needed to come out
of their comfort zone.
What I mean by this is that, they have to come out of what they are
used to and almost go beyond their capability sometimes.
I can even give you some example of people in the Bible that have
done just that, but before I do that, I want to give an example of
a person such as myself who like going into the Gym, working on
strength training and body building. Now I know without a shadow of
a doubt that in order for me to build a solid body and keep it, I
would have to go beyond what normal people are doing.
I find myself doing extra reps, doing unique body building
exercises that are different from the rest, and are sometimes
extremely difficult to do. But that’s when coming out of your
comfort zone takes place. Therefore I find out that when I come out
of my comfort zone to train harder and longer and more unique than
all the others, that’s when I get the most gains.
This applies to everything you do in life, including walking with
God. When you walk with the Lord, it’s not always that easy, most
of the time it’s a sacrifice. One example one person in the bible
who walked by faith to get out of his comfort zone, was Isaac, when
God told him not to go down to Egypt like everybody else. That
totally took Isaac out of his comfort zone, so he had to put his
entire trust and faith in God. So he did and God Blessed him. Just
Read Genesis, chapter 26 and you’ll find out what I’m talking about.
Another example was Joseph the grandson of Isaac who also was
totally out of his comfort zone, when he got sold into slaver and
had to make critical decisions not to loose his cool and start
insulting people. However instead he trusted in the Lord, and God
Blessed him and he became the vice president of the most powerful
nations in the world at that particular time in history.
Now I want to give you some examples of how this applies to walking
with Christ. Let’s look at Mathew 10: 37-39
37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me.
And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not
worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who
loses his life for My sake will find it.
You see how this is totally sacrificing your life and coming out of
your comfort zone, however in this case it’s to find eternal life,
through the blood of Jesus. Now another example is in Mathew
16:24-26
24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come
after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow
Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but
whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit
is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
You see how important it is to come out of your comfort zone and
trust God. Even though it’s a sacrifice and it’s not easy, God has
a perfect plan for you if you trust and believe in him.
